5 Steps To Perform Basic Troubleshooting

Developing problems on your computer is something you can’t do without. Your computer may have one or more issues that may require a specialist to troubleshoot which may cause you money. I have 5 steps to perform basic troubleshooting. When followed the steps,
you will be able to find out the problem and solve it yourself.

1.        Getting Information
When you start discovering silent problems on your computer system, be care to record the information so that it could be used in the future to recall, information such as the error messages the computer displayed. This problem may happen once or regularly, but even if it keeps coming, make sure you record them exactly how they are written on the screen. Record how long the message appeared and at what occasion did it appear.

2.        Evaluate the Information
After gathering the much information concerning the error on your computer, the next thing you need to do is to evaluate it for any sample or themes. Let’s take for example, the error message I got talks about insufficient disk space, it then mean that my computer doesn’t have enough disk space to store my file. If the message requires you to always reboot the modern or router before you would browse, it implies that your router or modern needs correct configuration or replacement. If you get the error each time you use the keyboard, then it calls for buying a new keyboard.

3.        Try Necessary Solutions
Let’s assume that all the information and basic evaluation of the cause of the problems is ready; it’s time to try some necessary troubleshooting. Let’s start with hardware - If your keyboard or mouse doesn’t function well, follow this instruction like putting another battery, changing the entire keyboard or mouse. If the error says ‘insufficient disk space’ then go ahead and delete files that are of no importance to you, uninstall unused applications, when you see low or insufficient memory, then exit all open applications except the one you are currently using. Don’t install any hardware devices or open another application at this time unless you‘ve found solution to this problem, remember to backup every data files.

4.        Look For Assistance
If the problem doesn’t stop, the best option now is to seek the support and instruction of an experienced technical support specialist or any other person who has some ideas about how to solve computer issues or go direct to an institution that based onInformation Technology (IT) to lay your complaint. Where you aren’t satisfied with these options, I advice you go to Google to make a search on solving the problem. On the internet, people post useful contents relating to this problem. Finally, try searching for solutions outside the internet such as libraries, magazines, periodicals, reference books, or retail vendors.

5.        Talk About The Issue The Way It Is
Don’t say a different thing from how it happened when reporting the issue to the technical support specialist. To be certain, tell him/her how the error message was shown to you, what you touched or clicked that prompted it and the number of times this happened. Expose all details regarding the issue so that the technician will be able to know what to do to solve the problem.

Never be scare of any problem, there is no problem that doesn’t have a solution.  Always remember how it started, take appropriate record of all that happened try the steps above and the problem will be solved. If you found other means of solving computer related issues, you are free to tell us. Your advice could help somebody too.
