Have you already made up your mind to start a blog?
Maybe you are wondering the type of tools to use for the first time you want to
blog, you can’t count how many writing & blogging tools and
software
online, there are free and paid ones to choose from. But here, I ‘m going to
show you the ones you can learn without difficulty.
If writing quality articles or stories is what you
want, you will first of all figure out the tools that will work well for your
blog especially the one that will increase the numbers of your visitors and
make your blog lovable.
Creating Your
Blog Or Website
Buy a domain name to start a blog. This will make
you master of your blog or website. That is, you have full control of your
blog. There are thousands of cheap hosting companies online. You should always
ask for recommendation from other professional bloggers before you make your
final decision. Namecheap, SiteGround, Bluehost and JustHost are good hosting
companies that will not disappoint. I have never had any issues with them. After
hosting, the next software to install is Wordpress. Always include Jetpack and
WordPress SEO. They enhance the visibility of your blog.
Get A Working
Email Address
This is a very important aspect of your blog. As
soon as your blog is published, the next step is to create a mailing list that
collects your readers’ email through your newsletter subscription. There is
much software that can do that for you but you may try out MailChimp, they
won’t charge you a dime. They also provide free tutorials that will help you
understand it fast.
Use Simple and
Attractive Theme
Use a theme that doesn’t look cheap and shabby. Your
theme must be professionally designed to attract visitors. Some free themes
work well but if you want to have the best of Wordpress theme, go for the
premium ones. They are responsive and work well with HTML5 and mobile devices.
You can even get someone to do it for a fee.
Good Images
I won’t say much about images because your blog will
do well with or without it, but if want to start off with free images; Fotolia
has royalty images for free. But if you want to start from scratch to create
your own, then try out Canva.
Use A Popular
Social Media
You can’t start a blog without having a thought
about social media. If you want to consider all social media on the internet,
there is not limit. I use Buffer and Hoot since they have better features and
are free to use.
Despite all suggestions above, you should get a good
Wordpress tutorial online that will give you more ideas on blogging and guide
to using HTML and CSS to customize your theme.
